<p>Creating custom post types in WordPress is a great way to add new content types to your website. In WordPress you generally have only posts or pages. We can extend this with CPT (Custom Post Types). So to have a unique new group of articles with custom fields and taxonomies.</p>

<p>In WordPress these groups of articles are displayed on the Archive page as a list and have a single page for each post. As an example posts are displayed on archive.php and have single.php.</p>

<p>Lets say I have a my Web Design studio website and I want to make a section with all of the employees. With a personal page for each one and and archive page where everyone is listed.</p>

<p>In this tutorial we will do a CPT for the employees and two Elementor templates. One to display the Archive and another to display the Personal page</p>

<span id="more-1868"></span>

<p>In the WordPress Dashboard lets navigate to the plugins and search for &#8220;Custom Post Type UI&#8221; and Install it and Activate it.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" width="760" height="454" src="https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/1_cptplugin.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-1872" srcset="https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/1_cptplugin.jpg 760w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/1_cptplugin-500x299.jpg 500w" sizes="(max-width: 760px) 100vw, 760px" /></figure>

<p>On the left menu we will have a new CPT UI Voice. We click on it and then on &#8220;Add/Edit Post Types&#8221;.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="789" src="https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/2_addcpt-1024x789.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-1873" srcset="https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/2_addcpt-1024x789.jpg 1024w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/2_addcpt-850x655.jpg 850w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/2_addcpt-768x592.jpg 768w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/2_addcpt-500x385.jpg 500w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/2_addcpt.jpg 1027w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>We write the names for the new cpt and &#8220;Add Post Type&#8221;. We will now have on the left menu the new CPT that we added. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img decoding="async" width="661" height="514" src="https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/3_cpt.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-1874" srcset="https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/3_cpt.jpg 661w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/3_cpt-500x389.jpg 500w" sizes="(max-width: 661px) 100vw, 661px" /></figure>

<p>Before building our Archive page with &#8220;Elementor Theme Builder&#8221; Lets change a few options on our CPT.</p>

<p>Lets go to CPT UI, in edit post types Select Employees if it&#8217;s not selected. Scroll down to settings, find &#8220;Has Archive&#8221; and set it to True(This makes it appear in the Theme builder conditions). Scroll down to the end, add Taxonomies by checking Categories or Tags if you want them, click on Save Post Type.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="942" height="483" src="https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/4_cpt_archive.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-1876" srcset="https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/4_cpt_archive.jpg 942w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/4_cpt_archive-850x436.jpg 850w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/4_cpt_archive-768x394.jpg 768w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/4_cpt_archive-500x256.jpg 500w" sizes="(max-width: 942px) 100vw, 942px" /></figure>

<p>In &#8220;Templates&#8221; click on &#8220;Theme Builder&#8221;. We now have, on the left &#8220;Single Page&#8221; and &#8220;Archive&#8221;. Lets make the Archive first.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex">
<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="826" height="801" data-id="1879" src="https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/5_themebuilder.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-1879" srcset="https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/5_themebuilder.jpg 826w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/5_themebuilder-768x745.jpg 768w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/5_themebuilder-500x485.jpg 500w" sizes="(max-width: 826px) 100vw, 826px" /></figure>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="853" height="777" data-id="1878" src="https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/6_makingthearchive.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-1878" srcset="https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/6_makingthearchive.jpg 853w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/6_makingthearchive-850x774.jpg 850w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/6_makingthearchive-768x700.jpg 768w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/6_makingthearchive-500x455.jpg 500w" sizes="(max-width: 853px) 100vw, 853px" /></figure>
</figure>

<p>Click on the &#8220;+&#8221; sign or add new. An Elementor page will open with a Library popup. We now insert a pre made block.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="629" src="https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/7_blocks-1024x629.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-1880" srcset="https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/7_blocks-1024x629.jpg 1024w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/7_blocks-850x522.jpg 850w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/7_blocks-768x472.jpg 768w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/7_blocks-500x307.jpg 500w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/7_blocks.jpg 1487w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Click on Publish and set Add Condition. Choose the name of the CPT created and Save.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-2 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex">
<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="862" data-id="1882" src="https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/8_condition-1024x862.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-1882" srcset="https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/8_condition-1024x862.jpg 1024w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/8_condition-850x716.jpg 850w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/8_condition-768x647.jpg 768w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/8_condition-500x421.jpg 500w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/8_condition.jpg 1127w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="725" data-id="1881" src="https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/9_condition2-1024x725.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-1881" srcset="https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/9_condition2-1024x725.jpg 1024w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/9_condition2-850x602.jpg 850w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/9_condition2-768x544.jpg 768w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/9_condition2-500x354.jpg 500w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/9_condition2.jpg 1192w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>
</figure>

<p>Now that we have our archive page to see it and add it to the menu we need to add some posts to the CPT. We do it in the same way as Posts. In my case under Employees -> Add New I will add some &#8220;employees posts&#8221;.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="749" height="501" src="https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/10_addemployees-1.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-1884" srcset="https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/10_addemployees-1.jpg 749w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/10_addemployees-1-500x334.jpg 500w" sizes="(max-width: 749px) 100vw, 749px" /></figure>

<p>Lets add the archive page to the menu. In Appearance -> Menus, under Add menu Item lets choose our CPT -> View All -> All Employees and &#8220;Add to Menu&#8221;</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="932" height="490" src="https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/11_addtomenu.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-1885" srcset="https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/11_addtomenu.jpg 932w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/11_addtomenu-850x447.jpg 850w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/11_addtomenu-768x404.jpg 768w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/11_addtomenu-500x263.jpg 500w" sizes="(max-width: 932px) 100vw, 932px" /></figure>

<p>We now have or Archive Page and a Link in the Menu</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="766" src="https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/12_archive-page-1024x766.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-1887" srcset="https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/12_archive-page-1024x766.jpg 1024w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/12_archive-page-850x636.jpg 850w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/12_archive-page-768x575.jpg 768w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/12_archive-page-500x374.jpg 500w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/12_archive-page.jpg 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Now to add the single page, which is the one that appears when you click on the read more, we do the same as before. Lets navigate to Templates -> Theme Builder. Click on the &#8220;+&#8221; sign near Single Page and insert one default block.</p>

<p>Welcome to my first tutorial (hope i will manage to make more). </p>

<p>So i needed to make a signin and registration form for a translation website. As i have started to use Elementor, it makes a lot of things easyer, I wanted to try using it for this purpose.</p>

<p><a href="https://be.elementor.com/visit/?bta=20978&amp;nci=5383" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Elementor </a>makes it super easy to create custom forms without any coding and it has a login widget wich is great if you only need a login form. But in this case i needed a registration from.</p>

<p>I searched the web and here comes <a href="https://essential-addons.com/elementor/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Essential Addons for Elementor</a> and it has a great widget to do just that and it has included also the forgot password form. </p>

<p>So lets start.</p>

<p>After Installing <a href="https://be.elementor.com/visit/?bta=20978&amp;nci=5383" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Elementor </a>and Essential Addons lets make a new page to include our new signIn form. And then edit it in Elementor</p>

<figure class="wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-5 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex">
<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="765" height="651" data-id="1824" src="https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/addnewpage.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-1824" srcset="https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/addnewpage.jpg 765w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/addnewpage-500x425.jpg 500w" sizes="(max-width: 765px) 100vw, 765px" /></figure>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="761" height="674" data-id="1825" src="https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/editwithelementor.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-1825" srcset="https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/editwithelementor.jpg 761w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/editwithelementor-500x443.jpg 500w" sizes="(max-width: 761px) 100vw, 761px" /></figure>
</figure>

<span id="more-1821"></span>

<p>Now that we have our Page open in <a href="https://be.elementor.com/visit/?bta=20978&amp;nci=5383" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Elementor </a>lets search for &#8220;log in&#8221; in the Elements widgets and Add the &#8220;Login | Register Form&#8221;. <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="842" data-id="1830" src="https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/publish-1024x842.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-1830" srcset="https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/publish-1024x842.jpg 1024w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/publish-850x699.jpg 850w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/publish-768x631.jpg 768w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/publish-500x411.jpg 500w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/publish.jpg 1134w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="829" data-id="1833" src="https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/signinpage-1024x829.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-1833" srcset="https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/signinpage-1024x829.jpg 1024w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/signinpage-850x689.jpg 850w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/signinpage-768x622.jpg 768w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/signinpage-500x405.jpg 500w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/signinpage.jpg 1058w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>
</figure>

<p>One last important thing. When we try our form And click on Forgot Password it will go to the WordPress defaul form. To change this we need to click on the pencil near the Login Form General and set the &#8220;Lost Password Link&#8221; to &#8220;Show Lost Password Form&#8221;</p>

<figure class="wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-8 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex">
<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="866" data-id="1834" src="https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/showlostpassword-1024x866.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-1834" srcset="https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/showlostpassword-1024x866.jpg 1024w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/showlostpassword-850x718.jpg 850w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/showlostpassword-768x649.jpg 768w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/showlostpassword-500x423.jpg 500w, https://www.gabrieljoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/showlostpassword.jpg 1066w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>
</figure>

<p>And That&#8217;s it. Super easy and fast. The pro version of Essential Addons has also some great features like social login and the form submit via ajax.</p>
